e-Mission A low carbon, high performance output from RPM

Issue Four: March 2010

News and information for marketers and buyers of design,
print and cross-media services with advice on best practice
and how to maximise the return on your investment.

Paper prices set to rise
As widely reported in the trade press, paper prices are set to rise between 8-12% across all material grades, as from 1st April 2010 (sorry, this is not an April fool’s joke).

On low volume production runs the effect of paper price increases is often marginal as the paper value represents a small percentage of the total print cost. However, with medium run lengths, the value of paper content can range between *20%-30% of the total print price, rising to as much *50% for large volume production.

RPM encourage clients to place orders before the April price increase to secure orders at the current quoted price.

*Percentages are a guide only and may vary depending upon the grade
of material, print and finishing processes.

Increasingly, marketers are expected to be multi-disciplined and competent in services which traditionally have been outsourced, including copywriting. For some, this comes naturally, but for others the nuances of the English language pose many problems. This month, we tackle the tricky issue of the apostrophe and its usage in the English language.

With a little help from the BBC, our free guide tells you exactly where you can stick your apostrophe!
